All-State Band

Outstanding musicians, who are students of IBA members, in grades 9 -12 are eligible for the All-State Band.  The student must be a member in good standing of his/her school's band program throughout the school year. All participants are required to attend all rehearsals and the performance for the 54th Annual All-State Festival weekend (March 14, 15, and 16, 2014). Students must verify their availability.  We ask that students not audition if they cannot make a commitment to attend the entire All-State Festival weekend.

Once members are selected there will be a $135.00 registration fee assessed per All-State Band member to cover meals, music, guest conductors, concert venue, etc.  There will also be a housing fee of $60.00 to cover two nights of lodging and on-site transportation.

Total fee = $195.00 per student.

Dr. John Lynch, Director of Bands at the University of Georgia – Atlanta, will conduct the All-State Honor Band and Dr. Scott Weiss, Director of Bands at the University of South Carolina, will conduct the All-State Band.  Both of these directors will make this an incredible experience for all involved.   Observing these rehearsals can be beneficial to everyone. Directors may earn professional growth points by observing All-State rehearsals.  Certificates will be available from the IBA President. The Honor Band will premiere the 21st IBA commission: sevenfive by Steven Bryant.
