The IU Summer Music Clinic is an intensive band and orchestra experience for intermediate to advanced string, wind, and percussion students. June 14-20, 2026
Looking for an immersive musical experience? At the IU Summer Music Clinic, students currently in grades 8-12 will learn, rehearse, and perform a full ensemble program with top-notch conductors. In addition to full orchestra, concert bands, and (auditioned) jazz bands, students have sectionals and a daily chamber ensemble or elective class such as conducting, composition, jazz band, music theory, or leadership.
By living on campus and rehearsing in the Jacobs School of Music, students will sample college life, get to know other musicians, and perform Saturday’s Finale Concert in the Musical Arts Center – open to all. We also have a commuter option for students who live locally.
Instruments accepted: violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, bass clarinet; alto, tenor, and baritone sax; horn, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, tuba, percussion. |

Jacobs School of Music Brass Academy - June 21-27, 2026. The Jacobs Summer Brass Academy is a weeklong opportunity for high school age and undergraduate brass players to work and perform alongside the brass faculty of the Jacobs School of Music. JSoM faculty will provide brass ensemble coaching, masterclasses and topics classes as well as faculty performances. The week will conclude with a concert featuring each participant and faculty members. Participants will be divided into pre-college and undergraduate collegiate ensembles. academy website

| Jacobs School of Music Summer Jazz Workshop - June 7 - 13, 2026 The Summer Jazz Workshop is an intensive week-long jazz experience for students ages 13 to 18 (entering 8th grade through summer after high school) performing on brass, woodwinds, voice, strings, and rhythm section instruments. All students will rehearse and perform in a combo and participate in classes in jazz theory and improvisation, jazz history and listening, voice or instrument master class, and more. Evening activities will include faculty concerts and student jam sessions. Student combos will perform on Friday evening. All experience levels are welcome! | Jacobs School of Music Saxophone Academy - July 5 - 11, 2026 The Saxophone Academy is a one-week intensive saxophone experience for students ages 14-18. Students receive four one-on-one lessons (classical or jazz) and participate in daily technique class, master class, and saxophone quartets. Students choose between participating in Saxophone Ensemble or Jazz Workshop. Concerts feature faculty and staff, culminating in a student concert on Friday evening.
